  •  The next meeting of the Delaware Ornithological Society will be on Wednesday January 15. The topic will be a Wrap of the Christmas Bird Counts. It's also chili night. Bring a dish to share. The meeting is held at the Ashland Nature Center on Barley Mill Road and begins at 7 PM

  • The following talks are all being held at Wild Birds Unlimited in Hockessin

  • Saturday February 1, 9 am. Join Charles for his talk All About Winter Birding. Learn how birds survive the winter and how you can help. 

  • Saturday February 8, 9 am. Learn All About Citizen-Scientist Projects like eBird and Project Feeder Watch. We'll show you how to participate in the upcoming Great Backyard Bird Count happening February 14-17. 

  • Saturday February 15, 9 am. Join Charles for a very interesting talk All About Woodpeckers. Learn about the seven different types of Woodpeckers that may visit your yard.

  • Saturday February 22, 9 am. Bags to Benches. Join us as we welcome Jim Kelley from Eco Plastics Products of Delaware. Jim we talk about how this small non-profit is working to turn recycled plastics into viable products.

  • If your group, organization or school is looking for a speaker contact Charles at the store. He can speak on seasonal or topical subjects of either your choosing or his. There is no fee for the talks.

  • Also if a school or non-profit organization is looking to add bird feeders to their program or site, we have a limited quantity of used feeders we can donate for free.
