Where are all your birds???

Where are all Your Birds??

So we've landed in the too perfect days of Autumn. Beautiful skies, crisp morning air, and no more air conditioning but wait what happen to my birds? They were eating me out of house and home but now they've seemed to vanish into thin air. During the summer you generally see large populations of birds at your feeders because the parents are busy feeding themselves and all their nestlings. Once the young fledge the parents will shepherd them about demonstrating where to obtain food both natural and at your birdfeeders. After a few weeks of gorging these families of birds will disband and go there separate ways. At the same time many sources of natural foods come to fruition. The forgotten flowers of spring now bear seed, nuts, and fruits. Mother Nature’s cupboard is overflowing with food stuffs. So when we get to October the birds choose to eat out more often as opposed to visiting your feeders. This is a natural seasonal phenomenon and it’s nothing to get worried about. The birds will return when they need it. You’ll recall the parents showed the next generation your feeders in the summer and they’ll remember it when the weather turns foul.

So there’s nothing wrong with your feeders though I would take the opportunity to definitely clean them. There’s nothing wrong with your seed. Just make sure to check it after a rain to check for seed stoppage or wet seed. There’s nothing wrong with your birds they’re just partaking in available natural foods.
